Why pay for Blog again and what happens when vbulletin 5.x is out? Hi* I purchased vBulletin forum (leased license) in Jan 2009 and subsequently upgraded to owned license and also bought the Blogs and Project Tools modules in Feb and March 2009! - A total of almost $320! Now as per the special offer* I can upgrade to vBulletin Publishing Suite 4.0 at $130* but as I understand* vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite already has blog built into it and Project Tools removed. So what I am paying for $130 is for the CMS. I have two questions. Would be grateful if someone from vBulletin can clarify them: 1. I understand that CMS is a new add on to vBulletin 4.0* and so you charge for it* but what about me and others* who have paid for Blogs and Project Tools? We have already paid for it. So why should we be paying for it again - for blog* that is integrated with 4.0 publishing suite and for project tools which is removed from 4.0 2. My second question is about the upgrade from 4.x to 5.x and further. vBulletin sales faq says that* if I purchase or upgrade to publishing suite* then its going to be an owned license - with free updates for all versions of 4.x. What happens when vBulletin releases 5.0 or 6.0? Do I have to pay to upgrade for every major version release? If so* what is the cost for that? I have already paid $320 and being asked to pay another $130 (its not going to be a choice for me now* because i have my blogs already using vbulletin) Thanks Vijay |
