Questions about setting appearance
 

I'm a new vBulletin administrator trying to get my organization's board set up to look nice and be functional.

Functional is going pretty well so far. I'm having trouble with looking nice.

I've been reading the documentation about styles and templates* and I've heard of skins* but I don't know the language for what I want to do* much less where to go to do it* or what I can do myself and what involves getting a free or paid download. I'm looking for something like "how to configure your board in 10 easy steps" or "styles and skins for dummies".

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

Here are the most important things I want to do:
1. Replace the vBulletin logo at the top of the screen with my organization's logo.
2. Put user information (screen name* user title* avatar* statistics) in a column to the left of the posts* rather than in a row above each post.
3. Change the color scheme to coordinate with our logo.

I've browsed through a bunch of the sample sites at vbulletin.org. I found one (http://americanlibertyalliance.com/forums/) that is very attractive and includes the features I want.

Any hints for what I need to do to update my board's appearance* either starting from scratch or modifying the setup of an existing site (that's not mine)?
