***Enclosing Templates in a Table* disables drop down menus?***

I'm having an issue in that I'm customizing templates and enclosing them in a table to create two separate columns. The left column contains the forum code and the right column various two row one column tables for ad's and other information.

I have noticed that if the forum is enclosed in a table the drop down menus (forum tools etc...) stop functioning along with links (user links).

The only think I can think off is that its a DOM issue where objects are referenced via element[subscript] versus a name.
