Will it create a problem if I change the "canned" email address for Webmaster? I'm following the example in the Admin CP for setting up the 'Contact Us' options for the built-in contact form at sendmessage.php: Quote: If you are using the built-in contact form at sendmessage.php you can specify subjects for users to pick from. An "other" option will be added to any options you specify here. Each subject must be placed one per line, meaning that you need to enter a carriage return between subject (press ). If you wish to direct the email from a subject to a particular user, you can either specify the user's userid on the forum or their email address. You do this by placing the item in brackets at the start of the subject. Example: {1} Site Feedback {[email protected]} Help Registration Feedback sent to the first option "Site Feedback" would be directed to the email address of Userid #1. Feedback sent to the second option "Help" would be directed to the email address "[email protected]". Feedback sent to the third option "Registration" would be directed to the Webmaster's email address. It appears that the canned "Registration" option is programmed to direct these emails to the Webmaster's email address, which is entered in the Site Name / URL / Contact Details in the vb options list. Question: Is there any other use of the Webmaster's email address in VB? If not, I would like to change it so that all Registration emails are sent to an email address I will create by the name of registration@mysitedomain so that I can program an auto-responder to send an auto-response email with registration information. If the Webmaster email address as entered in the AdminCP serves another purpose, then I would like to leave it as is for that purpose. If that's the case, can I override where Registration emails are directed to by using the following prefix in the options list? {registration@mysitedomain} Registration Also, where do emails with the "Other" option selected get directed to? |
