Using Slave Database option with Load Balancer Hi there, I am running a rather heavy vbulletin website, and am wondering if I can make good use of the slave database option to good effect. Searching the forums, I realise there are some feedback that the master/slave don't work as intended... and more now, my intention is to scale the read. Questions: 1) Can I have multiple slaves (replicated from Master) sitting behind the load balancer, and I scale the read from there? 2) I am using v3.6.8 Patch Level 2. We can't upgrade yet, but we will be in due time. Any performance issue or improvement for the slave aspect? I heard not all read queries goes to slave. What does then? 3) Does it make sense if my slaves are sharing the same datastore with my master (iSCSI storage)? Or should I have them separately hosted on the slaves itself? |
