I have a forum and the existence is private so we likely are not having too many outsiders register.

I created a promotion to promote new users to a new user group

Usergroup promotion
then moved them from the REGISTERED USERS (required them to do all the hoops to register) to the new group.

Two people registered this morning and immediately went into a banned user group.

I can't see how this woudl happen, but it is the ONLY promotion I have.

When I looked at their profiles it showed them both as "Awaiting Email Confirmation" and they got this message


You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never
