unmoderated vs moderated new users
 

What distinguishes an unmoderated new user from a moderated one? Both have the same usergroup ('registered'), and anything relying on usergroups to give access to certain users will be unable to do so.

I was considering solving this with a usergroup promotion at the first post, but there must be a better way?
