Database active copy. Is it possible to have a database copy running on the same server? What I`m trying to do is to have a regular vbulletin mysql database, but I`d like to have an active copy of it all the time under a different database name, with read rights only, so my desktop application can read data from a copy, not the original. Every time when an original database updates, I`d need a "copy" to update aswell. Main reason is a security of the database, because my desktop application connects to a database, and I`d like to lower the chances of getting the main database corrupted like that. Thanks! |
