How does the attachment directory heirarchy work? One of my forums is a picture-sharing based forum, and some users have over 200,000 attachments. I just looked at my attachments directory, and saw the subdirs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 I cd'ed into "1" and did a "ls" and there must have been *thousands* upon thousands of files there. Is there any way to have vB split the subdirs up based on either time, or max files, or anything? I'm not sure it's good for linux to have 100,000+ files in one subdirectory - or what the limit is, as if there IS a limit in the o/s, my entire forum will be history. And yes, I know "vB isn't meant for big forums like that" etc, etc.. but I'm trying to modify things as I go along as it's too late to go back now. Ideas? |
