Bahrain's Ruth Jebet won the women's Olympic 3,000m steeplechase gold with the second-quickest performance in history. Jebet, 19, posted a time of eight minutes 59.75 seconds, narrowly missing Russian Gulnara Samitova-Galkina's world record of 08:58.16.
