New forum - do I have stalkers?
 

I recently created a new forum, using this same vbulletin software. My second forum. Nothing to do with the first one, but with some AWESOME content on it.

Only five people have signed up - all of whom I know. I have NOT advertised the forum at all yet, or even promoted it. I am waiting until each category (thread) has at least one post in it. And each post is a serious work of art, not just a hastily thought out little nothing.

The odd thing is, when any one of the five new members goes on to the forum and makes a new post, within minutes, if not seconds, first one Guest, then another appear, and go to the topic thread where the new content is posted. Presumably to read the new post. It is always the same - two guests appear, stay for a while, and then disappear.

I have checked IP addresses of people on the site using sitemeter, and I am not exactly who are what these "guests" are, or if they are registering on the sitemeter. Very odd.

I mean, is there some kind of new software that allows people to be notified the moment new content is posted on a forum? Or are these vbulletin staff members who are intrigued with my forum and have the inside ability to know when something new is posted?

Or are these just robots scouring my forum for content for the search engines to which I have submitted a site map? Or Google adwords robots? Would robots show up as guests on my forum?
