Permissions Question I'm running a board that is closed to the general public. Nobody can register, it's invite only. We bought the blog update a few months back, and it occurred to me that it might be advantageous to let the blogs be seen by the world, where the regular forums are not. So I went to the unregistered / not logged in group, and gave them permission to be able to see others' blogs, and also be able to comment on other's blogs. Not going to allow them to create/have their own. I then looked at the board from another browser, and got the "You don't have permission to view that, log in" screen. My question is this. Is what I'm trying to do even possible with the structure? I would think it would be based on the dialogue in the individual permissions. I am running a plugin that has an invite system for estabishled members to invite people to join the board. It occurred to me that this might be getting in the way of opening the blogs to the world. Is this theory right, or did I not set up permissions correctly - or is the entire concept unworkable? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. |
