How to remove (or edit) the What's Going On section?
 

I'm experimenting with the demo system and making some progress.

I can't see any way of editing the What's Going On section near the bottom. It takes a lot of space and I would like to see how one can reduce it or remove it completely. Is this possible?

There doesn't seem to be any easy way to work out how to change each part of the page, except in some cases by guessing, while using the Style Manager and All Style Options. Is all this documented anywhere?
