MySQL installation: transactional? strict mode? force_sql_mode?
 

Hello,

I would like to use vBulletin 3.8 + vBulletin Project Tools the best way possible (fresh installation).
Everywhere possible, I will only use “Character Set: UTF8”.

First I am installing MySQL 5.1.36. Here are two questions...

Multifunctional Database or Transactional Database Only?
In the 1st case, they consider InnoDB equal or less important than MyISAM.
In the 2nd case, they consider InnoDB more important than MyISAM.

Enable Strict Mode?
They recommend it for InnoDB.


Then, I am installing, vBulletin 3.8. Here is one question...

['Database']['force_sql_mode']?
true or false?
Installation procedure recommends “true” but config.php recommends “false”.
