Hostage Company switched me to another server and lost files The company hosting my site was recently compromised and had some issues. Apparently they switched me to a new server today without saying anything. First I noticed my main website and my forums wouldn't work. So I connected to my server space through a FTP program. It connected me to my old server (which I thought was still the right server) and it showed me all the files I had uploaded, but some of them now said 0kb next to them, as if they were just file placeholders. So I email the hosting company and they say those files aren't uploaded. So I try to reconnect and it turns out that they moved me to another server, and I had to find the right address to connect. Now those files aren't there. So I guess they lost them in the transfer, I don't know. Doesn't matter. I've restored my website, but I'm having issues with the forum. I'm missing these files in the root folder: cron.php external.php index.php infraction.php moderator.php reputation.php showthread.php usercp.php What is the best way to restore these? I don't really understand how the forum works. I just installed it and it's worked since then. I don't know if I restore the original files if it will overwrite newer versions that had changes made to them. |
