Promotion issues
 

Have an issue I need to figure out how to fix easily. Was running flashchat 5.0 and while enabled it was creating duplicate usergroups any time I made an edit to a usergroup and not saving the change to the original. This created some chaos with permissions.

Anyway, we are setup with registered users and active users. After 30 days and 20 post you get bumped from registered to active which gives you some additional posting priviledges.

It appears we have a lot of active users that can even read the forums now. If I go into their account and add them to the registered users as well it works.

I am thinking the promotion should have been set to add them to additional usergroups and not primary??

What are my best options for fix.

I thought about deleting the active users group which forces everyone back to registered users an then repromoting them. But I think once I delete the active users I will lose my individual permissions per forum for "active user"??
