Haven't heard from you .. poem .. i haven’t heard from you in days The hours keep passing by… It takes all the strength within my soul To not allow myself to cry… The nights are cold and empty Without you to hold me near… I close my eyes and say a prayer That soon you will be here… I wish so much that you weren't’t gone But there is nothing that I can do… I fell for a man without fear in his body I knew that the moment I met you… I can’t tell you that it is easy Without you beside me every day… You ask me to tell you that I’m all right But you know those words I cannot say… I won’t let you know how much it hurts To think of you over there… To know that you are in the hands of danger And that those people don’t even care… I must find inspiration in knowing That your friends are always at your side… That they will have your back through this While I sit back and hide… I wish that there was more I could do As I sit here all alone… But I know that in your heart you smile Knowing I’m still here at home… I’ll keep checking the ringer on my phone To make sure you can get through… And I’ll sit back and keep praying That soon I’ll hear from you.
