Bahrain’s Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim al Khalifa and Uefa general secretary Gianni Infantino blew the race to succeed Sepp Blatter as Fifa president wide open as the bidding process closed at midnight on Monday. Eight candidates had confirmed their bids.
