How can I permit mods to block IP's of spammers?
 

Is it possible for moderators to ban IP addresses? We are getting spam registrations despite our CAPTCHA and so I'd like them able to block the offending IP's. Currently they can't access the admin panel, and I *think* that's the only place it can be done?

If it's not an option for Mods, could I create a new "limited admin" usergroup to assign them to, that *can* ban IP's, but not use other parts of the admin panel, such as being able to grant/take away others admin/mod status?

Please advise?
