What software do you use for Split Web Servers?

What are the best options for Split an Apache server to two servers i actually have the database on other server and is working good but the server for httpd is very overloaded in peak times.

I know that there are other options like nginx or lighty which has better performance than Apache but i use Plesk as control panel and these software's didn't work with it.

Please advice.
