Moving forum to new server (new IP)
 

Hi,

i would like to change server for my board. 2 years ago i had similar situation and big piece of my users have problem with dns. A lot of providers using caching dns and users redirect to old IP, and then they can't use and post on my board.

My idea is that:

Server A(old), will be have vbulletin script and in configuration database set to Server B(new). Server B contains vbulletin script and in cinfiguration database set to localhost.

Code:

Server A(vbulletin script) ------>|
|------->MySQL(on server B)
Server B(vbulletin script) ------>|
My question is:

this is possible? Database will be works ok if requests come from two diffrent servers, any commits, transactions will be work ?

Any alternative solution for this problem ?
