i have a question about the backup routine in your admincp.

I've always done mysqldumps in a cron to backup my db, but i had a ask me a couple things that piqued my curiosity.

IN the backend there' a backup function in maintenance. How is it possible that you can run a routine like a backup when the db tables aren't locked? eg: nobody has shut the forum down previous to running it? Is this something that requires you to shut down the forum before hand? My thought is yes, but i would like clarification.

second, I did a backup run through the db (admincp) and tried to import the data from the .sql back into a blank db for testing. It seems that vb doesn't pick up ALL the tabels, is that correct?
