User Module Problems?
 

New user signups aren't getting emails. Not sure why.

Wondering if I can get some tips on places to check.

* I started by looking at the logs/error.log and there's nothing there.

* I looked through the user module and traced the actual relevant function to "confirmEmail($user)" in the /mod/users/Action.php file.

* I tested my local smtp and it seems to be working.

* I verified the settings in /config/core/mail_settings.LOCAL.php reflect my set up.

What I am uncertain about is:

• How do I know which mail config file is being used? I see three listed.
• If the mail settings are wrong, shouldn't I get an error during signup?
