Apache Configuration I just got this notification from our dedicated server management: Quote: This is a Monitoring Notification only, and requires no response from you. Sonar Server Health Statistics and Monitoring Services are fully explained here: http://liquidweb.com/services/sonar.html. Our monitoring service detected that SSH failed on your server. We blocked the following IP address on your server due to a brute-force attack: 85.114.133.123 (p123.purple.fastwebserver.de) SSH has been restarted and is confirmed working again. Your apache configuration was set to the default settings. The following settings have been applied, and apache restarted: Timeout 300 KeepAlive On MaxKeepAliveRequests 150 KeepAliveTimeout 5 MinSpareServers 10 MaxSpareServers 20 StartServers 10 MaxClients 250 MaxRequestsPerChild 500 We are running: Apache version 2.2.11 (Unix) PHP version 5.2.8 MySQL version5.0.67-community Previously, in this Server Optimization Request thread, it was recommended I use the following settings: Quote: 7. Edit httpd.conf values to following and restart apachee for each change to take effect KeepAlive: On MaxKeepAliveRequests: 100 KeepAliveTimeout: 3 MinSpareServers: 10 MaxSpareServers: 15 StartServers: 10 MaxClients: 180 MaxRequestsPerChild: 1000 Should I contact my server management and have them change the settings from the default to these that were recommended previously, or will those default settings be sufficient? Thanks! |
