Problems with moving database

I'm in the process of moving my forum to a new domain. I first installed a fresh copy vB 3.8.2 on the new domain, I set an admin etc... This new forum was grand I made a test thread on it. So I began the process of backing up my existing forum, but discovered I don't have a clue how to do this, so I ask my hosting company as the everything is on my hosting account, ie domains, databases etc...

So they moved everything from my existing database 'old_forum' to the new database 'new_forum'. But this is where I have a problem, when I go to the new forum site address, all I see is a white page, I can see my admincp, but this shows my old forum name in the window beside the vB logo. When I login I get the white page again. I set my server name to 'localhost' and got this error;

Good morning Patrick,

I am unable to offer suggestion as to how you should configure your software to talk to the database, although making a connection to localhost is clearly incorrect!

I am not familiar with the configuration of vBulletin, and would suggest as vBulletin is a licensed product, you contact your vendor for technical assistance with making database connections. Suffice it to say, you should be making a database connection to sql5.hosting365.ie, which is the host that serves both of the databases.

If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Any ideas guys? :( It's probably something simple :o

Thanks in advance,

Patrick
