How to upgrade to 3.8.3 and keep mod related files
 

Hi all,

I was getting ready to do my first upgrade on my new vBulletin forum but to my surprise I had to upload all files and not just the changed files?

When you open your ftp client with the local upload folder in the left pane and your server in the right pane and you select all local files and drag them to your server it says 'a folder named bla already exists would you like to overwrite'. if you say yes all files you uploaded for vbseo, cron files, and/or created pages will be deleted in that folder. So you have to go in each folder first select the files and just upload the files.

Why do I have to upload all files? Just the changed files (and maybe any new files and upgrade script) would be enough I think? All the other files are stll the same otherwise why making a list with changed files.

How can I best upgrade my vBulletin and keep all the files I uploaded to the server?
