How to prevent crawlers from indexing forum?
 

I want to assure my forum members that forum posts won't be indexed by services like Google.

If successful registration is required in order to view the forum, is that enough to prevent legit crawlers from indexing?

I'd like to avoid using a robots.txt file, because I want the forum home page ("You must register...") to be indexed. Just nothing else.
