Entitled Darb Mobile, it provides an “Intelligent Transport System in the palm of your hand”. The app requires 3G mobile or Wi-Fi access. Access to current GPS information on the smartphone is also required for many of the system functions. Functions are available in both Arabic and English. The Darb Mobile app provides the customer with live data on traffic conditions, traffic incidents and road work in Abu Dhabi, real-time bus arrival information at the nearest bus stops, and access to current airport information including departures, arrivals and parking. The customer can also select a route from his current location to a desired destination using the on-screen map, and choose to receive either the shortest distance route or the fastest route. The app will then acquire current traffic flow information in order to provide the estimated travel time to the desired destination. Customers will also be able to save their favorite routes and then receive notifications on current traffic incidents along those routes during specific time periods. The app also enables the customer to book a taxi, pay for on-street parking, and obtain ferry schedule information. It also enables the customer to contact DoT electronically through a “Geofeedback” feature to report any system malfunctions such as traffic signal bulbs that are burned out, light poles and signs that are down, and other issues. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...dot.darbmobile |
