British forces helped to seize a £140million haul of heroin – the largest ever at sea – in a dramatic swoop on Indian Ocean smugglers. The crew of HMAS Darwin found 1,032kg of the drug hidden among bags of cement when they boarded a dhow 27 miles off Kenya’s coast.
