Galium ceratopodium Boiss
Ascending or climbing, somewhat delicate annual herb, 10-30 cm high with stems retrorsely tough scabridulous. Leaves in whorls of 5-7, oblanceolate, mostly 5-15mm long, 1-3 mm wide, sometimes larger, acute-aucuminate, retorsely scabridulous at margins. Peduncles axillary, mostly 2-3 mm long. Flowers minute,, corolla with 4 white lobes,, stamens 4, alternating with the corolla lobes. Fruit pedicels strongly globose, dark brown, tuberculate, c. 1.5 – 1.8 mm in diameter.
Habitat: Silty bottoms of latger wadis or basins,, sometimes in shelter of large shrubs such as Ziziphus nummularia. Locally frequent.
