Getting my bearings in 2nd hand site.
 

A client has come to me with a website powered by phpWebSite. I was able to poke around here and figure out how to take the files and database sql they gave me and get the site running on my development machine. The site is running perfectly! There remains, however, much that I need to figure out...

I need administrative control...How do I obtain administrative access or reset the admin password? What's the default? I will reiterate here that I have access to all the files and the DB, so no issues there...just want to access the admin controls to start re-skinning.

I need to author new templates to re-skin the site. The reason this client came to me is that they were deeply unsatisfied with the level of creative applied to their old site, so we have just finished mocking up a new design, and I need to apply it. Any tips on writing my own templates for this system? I noticed it mentioned that they follow some kind of standard, "pear" I think, and are pure HTML. Is there a way for me to involve DreamWeaver in my workflow? (I DO design with 100% valid w3c spec markup, XHTML transitional or 1.0 strict) I just like to use DW to do it since it provides a pretty good IE preview natively.
