Hack attack problem I don't know where to post this, so I thought I'd try here. My discussion boards crashed last night and had a DB error. I rebooted the server and it didn't solve the problem. Miraculously, this morning the boards are working fine. I don't know why and the server company didn't "fix" anything. But now we are getting over 13,000 guests (from one IP) visiting the site in the past hour. The number is slowly decreasing each time I refresh (I don't know why, but perhaps because I shut the boards down then activated them?). Anyway, one of the admins blocked the offending IP 94.193.254.144 last night before the crash but it is showing up still. I blocked it in the vboptions are by putting in 94.193.254* We have 1.7 million posts and about 32,000 registered users. The boards are Christian based and let's just say that there are a lot of people who want them brought down. So, I'm sure this won't be the last attack. http://www.christiandiscussionforums.org/v/index.php Anyway, I thought I'd pose this problem here in case anyone has any ideas and/or suggestions. Thanks. |
