Install problems Ok... to make a long story short.. I was volunteered to make a website by a group of friends since i have had some experience in the past with websites and i know lots about computers.. not exactly website design per say..lol.. but anyways they want me to go with vbulletin and vBadvanced... ok so here is my problem.. I have a domain and a host account thru godaddy.. i know known for there domains.. not their hosting .. :( anyways i honestly have no clue how to install vbulletin.. besides looking/ reading the install guide provided on this site.. but that doesn't really seem to help me.. when it comes down to "editing" the config.php file i start to get lost.. Ok.. i am going to just copy and paste my stuff that i have..*not the entire thing* I'll Underline the stuff that i believe is wrong and don't know what i am doing let alone looking for. // ****** DATABASE NAME ****** // This is the name of the database where your vBulletin will be located. // This must be created by your webhost. $config['Database']['dbname'] = 'forums'; // ****** MASTER DATABASE SERVER NAME AND PORT ****** // This is the hostname or IP address and port of the database server. // If you are unsure of what to put here, leave the default values. $config['MasterServer']['servername'] = 'ProcBulletin.db.4441839.hostedresource.com'; $config['MasterServer']['port'] = 3306; Now for my honesty.. i would pay the ppl here to install it for me.. but i would like to know this stuff for the future.. this stuff is fasinating to me. sorry if i come across as a noob but we all have to start somewhere.. thanks for reading Jim |
