Is it possible to have better thumbnail layouts?

The problem with this, is that images shot vertically opposed to horizontally... the thumbnails are all different heights, making for a sloppy looking layout in posts.

Is it possible to have them all the same HEIGHT only? The widths can vary accoring to proportional size, but it would make for a MUCH better looking layout when all the thumbnails in a row are aligned properly with the same height.
