Forums Edit Post Authorship & Timestamp Suggestion; The addition of the Administrators ability to edit the Authorship and Timestamp of posts. Location; When Editing a Post, on the Advanced Edit page, under Additional Options, have a grouping for 'Authorship' with a field containing the current Author, and a field containing the posting Time & Date. Functionality; Click or highlighting the Author field to select it, then start typing the new Author name, which offers auto-fill suggestions as you go, from the list of registered members. Click the Timestamp field to edit the time and/or date the post was made... This would have to be validated to make sure the entry followed the accepted Timestamp format. Following any such edits, the Admin would have to do an update post count to reflect the changes. Uses; Member 'A' makes a post for (on behalf of) member 'B' that is having technical issues on his end (this could be anything from hardware, software, Internet connection, or just skill level)... Admin can now edit the Authorship to reflect the intended poster. It would also have use for the Admin to re-posting missing posts from an old site... the post content would be copied from he old site and made in a new post by the Admin... then the Authorship and Timestamp edited to reflect the original poster and time/date. |
