myISAM vs innoDB and STRICT_TRANS_TABLES I read all about innodb and how it uses row locking vs table locking. I have a board w/ 26,000 users, 2 million posts, and about 150 online concurrently. I am doing a fresh install of the latest x64 version of MySQL. Going through the install I selected the option for transactional weighted database bc quite frankly I am a sql dba and vbulletin in my mind is a highly transactional oltp system. By doing this, MySQL set the default table type to innodb. vbulletin went back and set a handful of tables to myISAM. Given the size of my board, do you see any harm staying on innodb? What is vbulletin's official recommendation? I thought I read once it was myISAM but I can't find that via search. Also, what is with STRICT_TRANS_TABLES option? Recommended on or off? |
