So I'm new here, hello everyone. I've been an admin on a forum for quite a while and this is the first time I've ever had a serious problem (I wanted to post in the managing subforum but couldn't.) We have a member who we have banned who keeps coming back (under a new user name/IP address) and threatening my staff. He starts off normal, participating in the forum, until he posts someone and gets called out by one of my mods or me for doing something he shouldn't have (this time he reported his own posts so we would notice them and one of my mods told him not to misue the report button). He got mad, cussed her out, called her names, created several new accounts (which is against the rules) with our names totally warped (very graphic names) and then PM'd my mod with an extremely graphic picture. The reason it concerns me so much is that this is an escalation from before. The first time it happened, he just PM'd one of my mods and called her names and tried to bully her, we banned him. The second time he posted porn on the forum and claimed it was two fo my mods (we are a minor friendly site) and this time he sent a very graphic, threatening PM to one of my mods. We have his IP, know who his provider is and are going to report him, but every time he joins its with a new IP and email BUT the lat/long matches (I caught him trying to make a new account today, I have to manually approve every new member due to spam issues and I started comparing IP addresses, we just banned him yesterday.) He's in Canada, is there a way to report him to the authorities? We have the threatening PM. And my other mod saved everything he did before with the IP addresses. Any tips would be great, I don't want my mod team to feel they aren't safe to post on the forum because of this guy (although out of all of us he lives closest to me, but I'm not worried about him showing up, I just want him to stop harrassing us.) Its almost like he's stalking us. Thanks in advance!
