CMS Redirect from subdirectory to root breaking login - Any chance quick assistance?
 

So I patiently have been getting ready for the launch of a new site. Did all my testing prior to the launch of this site. I have a couple of vbulletin based sites. So I am some what comfortable.

My situation is I setup a fresh install got all my content ready, then pointed the DNS of a URL to my new server. Upon the change the site is not loading when going to www.example.com but only when typing the subdirectory the site is installed in (other sites are setup the same with no issue). So I got some assistance with some htaccess

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.motonews.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://motonews.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/motonews\.com\/forum" [R=301,L]

And it all went smooth - so it seemed. When you try to login your just redirected. I have that typical situation "help me now please" haha just transfered database from an old forum to this and then launch and BOOM! People are blowing me up "i cant login etc....."

So any suggestions on the htaccess? the site is in a sub dir called "forum" site URL is http://www.motonews.com and homepage URL is the same.
