Getting head around phrases and constructing labels Hi vB! I am building some postbit with custom user profiles. I have the ability for a user to select their home state in their personal details. Currently their flag is then published according to the method of appending ".gif" to the value they selected in the radio buttons thus: Code: http://vb.ma7room.com/images/flags/$post[field12].gif This then gives me a direct mouse over of the state name when the postbit is displayed. What I would like to do though is have the state name used for the image and in selection of the profile setting be substituted for a more rich version. Therefore I have the state: NSW and the image NSW.gif which serves up the NSW flag and when mouse over says "NSW" I would like the phrase manager to serve up the text on mousehover: "New South Wales" and I have been looking at phrase construction to do it based on the string formation of say the avatar "xs_avatar" or the online status. However I am finding that I can't work out how to get the substitution to happen according to a case of "xs_state" where xs_state="NSW" because $post[field12]="NSW"... I have been looking along the lines of: alt="$vbphrase[xs_state]" but then find that defining a custom profile field phrase of xs_state does not allow me to define the values for substitution of each option. I think I have missed a concept here and will continue to hack until someone can explain it better to me. Thanks for any support on this matter. Best regards, Will |
