Forum User database integration
 

At the moment our site is tightly integrated into vbulletin. When a user registers we insert a record into the vbulletin user table, when a user logs in we enter data into the vbulletin session table and spoof the vbulletin cookies.

The problem is vbulletin is a very small part of our site (~1% of our site traffic) and I don't want to have such a heavy reliance on it. Ideally I'd like to move to our own user system and have vbulletin sync with that.

There's very little documentation/code example on the net for doing what I've suggested. Does anyone know if this is at all possible?
