Forum "Not Acceptable" error when character %92 is found in URL For some reason lately some thread titles have been encoded with the character %92, which is some kind of single-quote character. Example, the URL for the thread might be "billy%92s-great-adventure". The %92 character is not the normal single quote nor the tic mark on the key with the tilde character. I don't even know how it's getting created, maybe copy/paste from Word or something? Anyway, when a thread title is encoded with %92, any time the link is clicked, they get a "Not Acceptable" error in the browser. If they edit the link and just remove the %92 and change to a single quote, the link will work. The question is, how is a thread title getting encoded with %92 in the first place, and why would the browser or server return a "Not Acceptable" error when that character is there? Shouldn't vBulletin just interpret the code correctly and show the thread? Incidentally, a normal quote character does not get encoded to %92, it goes to a dash, same as spaces do. Thanks |
