هذه المحاورة تمّت بيني و بين BenM أحد مطوّري نظام S60 لأجهزة Samsung بخصوص برامج تسجيل المكالمات، و هذه هي.

I treied installing all the Calls Recorders Application in SAMSUNG's G810, I8510, and I7110, but it seems that they are not working.
I heard that SAMSUNG has blucked all the recorders from the built-in hardware, is that right.
I need to record some meetings with my manager, and SAMSUNG blucks this great feature??!!

Hi ArabPDA, not quite right - Samsung has not blocked a feature. Call recorders in S60 3.2 use APIs that are not part part of the base S60/Symbian OS, but are delivered as Nokia extensions. So they work fine on Nokia phones, but not on Symbian phones from other vendors (try putting Ford parts in your FIAT - is that going to work?) Things are a bit different in S60 5th Edition, and we are working to show developers how to migrate to the 5th Edition APIs.

I tried to install Total Recall - Call recorder & Dictaphone v3.2.1 from SAMSUNG's Mobiles Application site, and still it is not working, and it is not possible that all the mobiles is same. I also installed it on Nokia phones it working very fine. Can you try to install it on your S60 Samsung mobile and see if it will work.

ردّه الشافي،، بعد أن قام بتجربة البرامج، و قام بمراسلة القائمين على الموقع،، و أزالوا البرامج لأنها خاصّه ببرمجيات Nokia فقط.

Re these specific apps, I don't know them all but I know Total Recall and you are quite right it won't run on Samsung S60 3.x because it uses the Nokia proprietary APS extension API. I presume the other apps do the same. I have pointed that out to the App Store team and asked them to investigate the links you posted and remove any apps that are indeed incompatible. I don't know why they are there in the first place :-(

As I said in my earlier reply - any app that uses APS will only work on Nokia phones. On 5th Edition VAS is an alternative to APS. I am working to test and document the VAS alternative so that we can offer a 5th Edition migration path onto Samsung.
