User unable to post - "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation"
 

A member of my business forum (VB 3.8.2) PM'ed me to let me know that he could no longer post on the forum. He has over 200 posts and had posted right up to about four days ago.

When I checked his account in the Admin CP his primary usergroup was "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation". I hadn't made any changes to permissions or even looked at this user's account for some time prior to his last post.

How did this happen?

How can I prevent it from happening again?

How can I check that there are not more members with the same issue?
