UN chief "deeply regrets" harsh sentences on Bahraini activists

UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon "deeply regrets" the decision of Bahrain's highest appeals court to uphold harsh sentences against opposition activists, said a statement issued here by his spokesperson on Tuesday.
