Test Site - Install / Upgrade database error
 

I shut down my live site. I backed up my database and was attempting to set up a test site for my vb5 install/upgrade. I created a new database and imported my back up there. I associated my username with MySQL user. I created a new sub-directory (vb5) and put my vb5 install there. I edited the config file and ftp the upload folder to my server.

My error:
Due to the following errors, the install/upgrade can not continue:

• Database connection failed due to unexpected error:
  • (1044) Access denied for user 'xxxxxxx'@'%' to database 'section8_vB5'
  Please ensure that the database and server is correctly configured and try again

(xxxx replaced my actual user name)

My live site: 4.12
My Test site: 5.23

MySQL5 Connection Settings:

Local (web applications):
Host: localhost
Socket: /tmp/mysql5.sock

Note: Most PHP applications/scripts will accept the following syntax:
MySQL Host: localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock

Remote (MySQL clients):
Host: mysql5.server284.com
Port: 3307

When using "mysql5.server284.com" as a MySQL Host, you need to enable "Remote Connections" for your MySQL user.
