Forum Quick Edit Hanging
 

Good afternoon all, and season's greetings :)

So, please bear with me. I'm new to php, mysql and vbulletin. I have a FB group of 500 people ready to move to a forum, so have been building one at the dive forum. I really wanted to launch this weekend.

So the install went well, and I've followed as much advice as I can in terms of securing the server, and optimising the database.

Here are the details

Virtual windows 2008 Web Server with 12 GB Ram and 4 core processors.
Using Vbulletin 4.2.0 on Apache
Apache, PHP and mysql installed with Xampp
"Modern" style installed from pureVB then rounded corners disabled.

Here's the problem. Quick Edit doesn't work. When you try to make a quick edit, it writes to the database, but the page hangs. It just sits there with the wheel spinning.

Here is what I have done to try and identify the problem

1. Created a new template with no parent and tested that
2. disabled the "modern" template and tested
3. Completely uninstalled the "modern" template, all plugins and products, and tested that
4. disabled every product and plugin I could find, and tested that
5. Used the tools.php file to create a new default template, and tested that.

No joy. I logged a support call with VB a couple of days ago, but they haven't helped yet. Presume it's holiday season there.

I know that the problem is related to the template - because you can edit from the default mobile template. Equally, if you go to advanced edit that works fine. It's like something is blocking the redirect, or it doesn't know where to go, but as I said I'm completely new to PHP!
