Forum Database Error after Restoration, but not really... Hi The customer wanted to revert back to their original version after there was much dissent for the new v5 version. So, I cleaned off the server folder, downloaded the v4 version that was available in the customer's admin. Installed v4 with success, set up all the previous settings in the admin, and apply the skin that it had before. Then I imported the backed up database, captured before the v5 install, with success. However, a new problem occurred (now temporarily fixed) the home page shows this simple error message after being direct to the "activity.php" page: "The APA Forums database has encountered a problem." So I logged into the admincp and tried to see if I could work with the options and noticed that when I click on "Forum Home Page" at top right, it takes me to the actual functioning forum http://apaforums.com/forum.php I checked everything and do not know why or how to set home page. It's already defined in the SETTINGS > OPTIONS > SITE NAME / URL / CONACT DETAILS Also, intermittently I get this error when trying to save changes in the admin. I see that the Database still thinks it on 4.1.7, instead of the 4.2 that we are now on. Database error in vBulletin 4.1.7: Invalid SQL: SELECT styleid, title, parentlist, parentid, userselect FROM style WHERE type = 'standard' ORDER BY parentid; MySQL Error : Unknown column 'type' in 'where clause' Error Number : 1054 Request Date : Thursday, December 6th 2012 @ 02:41:50 PM Error Date : Thursday, December 6th 2012 @ 02:41:50 PM Script : http://apaforums.com/adminapacp/ad.php?do=update Referrer : http://apaforums.com/adminapacp/ad.php?do=add&ad_location=global_header1 IP Address : 99.47.214.168 Username : Anthony Nex Classname : vB_Database MySQL Version : 5.1.56 Also notice that the SETTING MENU looks like this Options Search Type *[navigation_manager]* Human Verification Manager Social Bookmarking Manger *[run_upgrade]* I can click on the Navigation Manage but half the fields are invisible, though there. So I manage to guess, based on a tutorial video, that the bottom blank tab is "default" allowing me to at least redirect the home page to the forum page, which is not what I want, but will work for now. Any suggestions would be grand. |
