Forum Promotions question I have a quick question regarding "promotions' to be sure I use the correct settings to make it work. In our local club you need to be a club member and have at least 50 postings to be able to post a new thread in the classifieds forum. However when you are a club member you can view and reply to threads from others in the classifieds forum even when you don't have 50 posts. As of now I only have a usergroup for club members called "members" I will create an additional usergroup called "classifieds" Now to setup the promotion am I doing this correct by filling out the fields as follows? Usergroup: members Reputation Comparison Type: Greater or equal to Posts: 50 Promotion Strategy: Posts Promotion Type: Secondary usergroup Move User to Usergroup: classifieds When this is done I will change in the "classifieds forum" the permissions for the "member usergroup" only being able to view and reply to threads from others The "classifieds usergroup" will be set to have all permissions My questions: Does this sound right to you to make it work? The manual states when doing the promotions the qualifying users will be moved to that usergroup. Do they actually get moved or just copied into the new usergroup and still remain also in the original usergroup? Thanks for any help and/or suggestions Michael |
