Merging forums in two stages
 

Is there any value in importing a phpbb forum to a newly created vBulletin forum, and doing some through testing before merging that one into an existing vbulletin forum.

I am thinking that most risk of things going wrong or being complicated would be from one platform to another, so this way I can spend a lot of time testing the intermediate vbulletin before taking my current target vbulletin forum offline and doing the final merge, which I presume may be less troublesome.

Just wondering, does this make any sense?
