Forum Paid Subscriptions & PayPal IPN Issues
 

We have been running Paid Subscriptions for some time now with Authorize.net but have recently switched to PayPal because the IPN callback can auto-update the usergroup as well as handle recurring billing. The actual payment/subscription goes through just fine, PayPal receives the payment, but the IPN/auto-update feature seems to be broken.

When I log into PayPal I get a response code of 200 (success) and can verify the funds were transfered to us, however, when I log into vBulletin I get "vb_error_code authentication_failure" in the transaction log and the usergroup is never updated. The transaction log also seems to state that everything was successful, and the only indication of error is the error code mentioned and the fact that the usergroups are not auto-updating.

I have tried searching the Googles and interwebs only to find really outdated information (circa 2008, 2009, etc) and no clear responses. The PayPal side seems to be functioning properly but the vBulletin side does not. Every transaction in the log is like this. Failure. However we are getting paid. What gives?
